I’m excited you’re here! Over the years, I’ve come to understand something significant through my own pursuit of personal happiness and professional success. First, getting clear on what makes you happy and avoiding happiness traps around you is critical. Second, everyone’s definition of success is different. Third, I’m bad at numbering, and third, the pursuit of both personal and professional aspirations can be incredibly hard. At Focus on the 40 we internally call these the “hard parts,” and they will always remain in our work to some degree because some components like time and money are finite resources.
There are acceptable levels of stress and discomfort to be expected in our work. Our special sauce is making the “hard parts” easier and through intentional effort you can transform the “hard parts” into something profoundly different. The quality of our relationships becomes something vastly deeper than before, our willingness to work collectively soars and results beyond what we could imagine possible can become a reality.
All of these desirable traits for a team are also deeply desired by the individual and are fostered through the most powerful influencer of the human mind: deep and authentic trust.
